Dear Sir,
I am Renuka, currently, I reside in Gandhipuram, T.Nagar, Chennai. I am writing this letter on behalf of Gandhipuram residence community. My workplace is on ECR road and I take public transport for everyday commutation. During the weekdays I need to wait for more than thirty minutes for boarding the bus number 57 in both morning and evening timings.
I realised that there are many schools and colleges in the route I am travelling. Due to which the bus is always crowded. Most of the days, the bus driver skip my stop since the bus is already full. I have also seen many schools and college students tries to run and board the bus when the bus is moving, which is very dangerous. I also noted an important root cause for this, from morning 7:30 to 10:00 total number of buses for the problematic route is just 5. This translated to one bus every half an hour.
To overcome this problem, I would plead you to increase the frequency of the bus during the morning and evening peak hours, which is 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM for morning and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the evening. Do give strict orders to bus drivers to halt the bus in each bus stop even though the bus is full, with this tactic we can reduce the student boarding the moving vehicle. Hope you will consider my petition and implement it for well being of citizens.
