Write a letter to retailer to complain in the letter explain.
1 why you are unhappy?
2 Request a refund
3 And make arrangements to return the damaged items.
Dear Sir,
Recently, I bought a new Samsung mobile phone from your store. I did not open the box at your store as it was a gift for my wife and I took the sealed gift wrapped box home. I wanted to surprise her with this gift because her old handset was not functioning properly. I was very shocked and embarrassed when my wife opened her gift and the mobile inside the box had some cracks on its display and the device was not switching on. Let me tell you, I am very displeased with this situation. It seems your store sold me a used device inside a new box. It kind of practice will lower your market reputation.
Since the device, which was sold to me, is clearly not in a working order, I would like to return this phone and request a refund for this purchase. I would also like to make it very clear that I do not want a replacement. I would also like to get my refund either in cash or through cheque.
I will visit your store this coming Saturday to return this device along with all the accessories which were inside the box. In case your store is not opening on that day, please let me know in advance, so that we can make some other arrangements to return the device.
Hoping to hear from you regarding the above mentioned situation.
Yours Sincerely,
