You are going to another country to study. You would like to do a part-time job while you are studying, so you want to ask a friend who lives there for some help. Write a letter to this friend. In your letter:
give details of your study plans
explain why you want to get a part-time job
suggest how your friend could help you find a job
Dear Ashek,
Hope this email will find you in a good health. It is making me feel goosebumps to write you after a long time. You will be surprised to know that I have secured a PhD program with full funding at your city and will be moving there end of next month. Haven't we waited for this day for long?
This PhD study will require me to be fully engaged on studies and research activities. According to the primary schedule, I will attend different seminars and master classes during the weekday evenings following by regular teaching support to undergraduate students at daytime every Monday and Tuesday in exchange of the funding. I have planned to focus on my PhD research on other three weekdays.
Though the tuition fees and accommodation at University housing is covered, I am responsible to arrange my living expenses which made me realize that I better look for a part-time job. Also, I would prefer to make some savings from the job which can allow me to join you and my other friends for summer trips to different states!
As a result, I was wondering if you can share my resume with your network to find me a weekend job. Also, you can refer me to your brother's cafe as I have previous work experience as barista. If you are aware about any particular agency or facebook group who can be a good source to look for job, please do let me know!
I am very happy to start the new chapter of my life and there cannot be anything beter than moving to New Your, specially as it will allow us to hang out more often.
Take care,
Shahla
