You have been accepted to study at an overseas university, but feel a little anxious about living
and studying in an unfamiliar environment.
Write to the university’s student union. In your letter
• Introduce yourself
• Explain your interests
• Enquire about any relevant social clubs you might be able to join
Dear sir or madam,
I am writing to enquire about the university’s social clubs and educational facilities.
My name is Rahi Honarvar, who recently has got the university admission in computer and technology for the next academic semester. I got my bachelor degree of science in computer engineering from one of the renowned universities of my home town, consequently I have never lived overseas and it makes me a little nervous about my new situation.
I have always been interested in doing physical activities including swimming, mountain climbing and cycling as well as jugging. Furthermore, I am talented not only in developing web programs, but also in analyzing the windows based programs.
I would like to know whether there is any club that is relevant to my interests. Moreover, I would be grateful if you could provide me with a list of university social clubs and the annual fee. This way I would be able to choose the appropriate one based on my interests and talents.
Thanks for your help and consideration and look forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours sincerely,
Rahi Honarvar
