You have decided to leave your current job and look for a new one.
Write a letter to a friend. In your letter
explain why you want to leave your current job
describe what kind of job you are looking for
ask for some help or advice
Dear Anna,
How have you been? I hope all is well with you. I’m glad to know that you are adjusting well to your new job. In fact, I’m writing to you today to give you the latest updates about my work situation and ask for some advice.
I’ve finally decided to leave my current job as a teacher and try venturing into the field of corporate management. I’ve finished a business course from the University of Cleveland and feel ready to put my new degree to use. As you know, I’ve been a teacher for more than eight years and while I do enjoy what I do, I feel it’s time for the next step in my career.
For this next career move, I was hoping to make it into the field of textile and clothing manufacturing given that I’ve always been interested in the fashion industry. Besides, there are quite a few clothing design companies in the state of California which should make the job search a bit easier for me. That’s why I was hoping that you may be able to give me some advice on what my next step
should be since you made a similar transition not too long ago. I’d appreciate any tips or connections you could provide. Also, I would like some help with building my new resume, so if you could give some tips on that too, I’d be grateful.
I hope to hear from you soon. I’d like to know all about the new job and the new apartment. Until then, stay safe and have a great week.
