You have had a bank account for a few years. Recently you received a letter from the bank stating that your account is 240$ overdrawn and that you will be charged $70 which will be taken directly from your account. You know that this information is incorrect.
Write a letter to the bank. Explain what has happened and say what you would like them to do about it.
Dear Sir,
I would like to state that, I have an account with your bank for the past 3 years. After one of my friends’ reference and good feedback about your services, I closed the account with your competition and open an account with your bank. I transferred all my funds into this account.
I recently received a letter mentioning that you will impose $70 as charges levied against an overdrawn of $240 from my account. But I would like to bring to your notice that this is not possible, as my account had enough funds. Just 2 days back only, I had deposited some more money into the account.
I am really surprised and shocked to know about this and I would like you to investigate this matter and look into the causes which led to this flaw.
If these charges are not waived-off in the next 15 days, I will be forced to approach the court. I have all previous statements showing that my account had enough funds.
I will be waiting for your positive response.
Yours’ faithful customer,
John Washington
