You have just spent a week with a friend on holiday. When you got home, you realised you had left your wallet there. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
• thank your friend for the holiday
• explain that you left your wallet in their house
• give them instructions on how to send it back to you
Dear Justin,
I hope this letter finds you in radiant health and best of spirits. First of all, I'd like to say thanks to you for making my vacations wonderful and also I want to let you know that I've forgotten my wallet at your place when I was there.
With regard to the vacations, It was an unforgettable trip and I enjoyed a lot, especially the scenic beauty of Dalhousie, for which it is popular among tourists across the world. Also, it was fun to revive the nostalgic memories of the college days. I really appreciate your hospitality and welcoming gesture. Once again, thank you for sparing your time for me.
As you know, I kept all my luggage in the guest room of your house and by mistake, I left my wallet in the left drawer of the cupboard while leaving for the airport. Could you check it there once? It is black and made of Italian leather. There is a company logo embossed on the front side of it and inside are some important business cards, a credit card and a bill receipt.
In order to get it back, I was thinking if you could hand it over to one of my colleagues, who is travelling there with his family tomorrow. I know this might sound a bit awkward to you to meet a stranger but I've no other reliable source to get it back soon. I'll send you his contact details as soon as I get it.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes,
Ell
