You have seen an advertisement in an Australian magazine for someone to live with a family
for six months and look after their six- year-old child.
Write a letter to the parents. In your letter
- Explain why you would like the job
- give details of why you would be a suitable person to employ
- say how you would spend your free time while you are in Australia
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing with regard to the advertisement I read in the jobs section in Australian Digest. I am very interested in the position you are offering, and feel like I am quite suitable for the job.
I am currently looking for a short-term job in Australia to spend my free time while accompanying my family. I just moved to Australia from Canada with my husband, who was assigned to work on a one-year project with a local team here. With 10 years working experience in child care, I believe I am the right person you are looking for.
Before I entered the child care field, I studied youth development back in university, where I acquired all the valuable knowledge and theory regarding children growth. After that, I gained real-life experience as a teacher assistant where I spend most of my time working with children from 4 to 6 years. I was described as patient, dedicated and hard-working. I could easily get to know about children and make friends with them, which comes with my personality.
Outside of work, I would love to take some time exploring the city and visiting the museums. I know there are some conservation areas in Australia that is definitely worth going.
Thank you for your time reading my letter. If you need further details, please feel free to contact me via abc@email.com or 123456789.
I look forward to your response.
Yours faithfully,
Amanda Roberts
