You have seen an advertisement in an English newspaper for a job working in the City Museum shop during the holidays. You decide to apply for the job.

Write a letter to the director of the Museum. In your letter,

introduce yourself

explain what experience and special skills you have

explain why you are interested in the job

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to you with reference to the job you advertised on Jobs DB Post (Ref#2900) this Monday.

I am a Year-2 student studying Bachelor of History at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I worked as a sales at Apple Shop last summer, and I had also private tutorial experiences when I was at Year-1. I can speak English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Japanese. A reference letter from my supervisor at Apple Shop is attached for your reference.

I am interested in the job advertised because I believe that my knowledge in History can equip me better to work in a Museum. Furthermore, I like to meet people, so I think that the job nature as a shop assistant fits my personality.

I would appreciate it if you could consider me for the job vacancy. If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me at 2999-8888 or my email address of annewong@gmail.com.

Thank for your attention. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Anne Wong
