You live in a room in college which you share with another student.
However, there are many problems with this arrangement and you find it
very difficult to work.
Write a letter to the accommodation officer at the college. In your letter
• describe the situation
• explain your problems and why it is difficult to work
• say what kind of accommodation you would prefer
Dear Sir,
I am Madhulika, from the science section for degree program. My hostel number is GH-1 and room number is 204. I am writing this letter to request for a change in my accommodation. The room, in which I am currently staying is a two sharing room. My roommate is from commerce section for the degree program.
Firstly, let me explain the situation. Since we both are from different sections, our study timings are different. I have classes in the morning and she has classes in the afternoon. Also, the internship work timings that we have undertaken are on different days. The science students have internships from Monday to Friday. However, the commerce students have it from Wednesday to Sunday.
Coming to the problem we both are facing, one of them is that although we are both degree students, yet our subjects are different so we are hardly of any help to each other in assignments. Also, the whole wing in the block I am residing, is for commerce section. Hence, I am completely cut off from my section. Another issue that we are facing is our timings. Both of our timings, always seems to clash with the other person study and relaxation time. In spite of trying to adjust, the current room arrangement is causing issues in our work and grades.
Finally, let me describe the type of rooms I feel would be best. I think it would be better if I could get a room in the science students hostel. I am open to multiple sharing rooms. Having such room would not only help me in academics but also since timings would match, nobody would be coming in other person relaxation or study time. I hope you would consider my above points and let me know if it would be possible to change.
Yours Sincerely,
Madhulika Banerji
