Essay topics:

You live in a room in college which you share with another student.
However, there are many problems with this arrangement and you find it
very difficult to work.

Write a letter to the accommodation officer at the college. In your letter
• describe the situation
• explain your problems and why it is difficult to work
• say what kind of accommodation you would prefer
You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with room-mate. As you know, we share one room and it is becoming impossible to study with such an arrogant and insensitive person who does not care for other people's inconvenience.

Her friends keep visiting her at odd times. They always have parties in the room which go late into the night. They make a lot of noise, dance to loud songs which do not allow me to concentrate on my studies. This makes me long for a quiet room. She even picks up fights with me if I complain, it shows that how impolite she is and not being disciplined.

I have asked her to have parties in other places but they still have those fun activities without bothering about my privacy. I have realized that I no longer can stay in the same room with her. Therefore, I request you to give me a new room next term.

I would be grateful if you can allot me a single room. This would allow me to do my job peacefully.

Yours faithfully,
Manivasan.G
