You read an advertisement from local newspaper about a discount sale at a particular shop. However, when you went to buy the goods you wanted, you found the sale had ended.
Dear Sir,
I read in a local newspaper about the 50% discount offered by your shop on Clothing Items which is located on the Pedder Road. The advertisement clearly mentioned that the Discount will end on 31/10/2018. So, I decided to the visit the shop as the offer appeared extremely attractive to me.
However, when I reached the shop on 31.10.2018 in the evening at 5 PM, I was told by your staff that the discount has been discontinued several days ago. On questioning the manager about the Advertisement, he said that it could be a mistake and he was not aware of it.
This episode has left me feeling disappointed and cheated and therefore I demand to be compensated for the hardship which I faced. I want you to pay me the amount of Rs 600 which I paid for the cab to visit your shop. Additionally, I want you to sell the clothes at a discounted price to me when I visit your store next time.
I hope you will honour my demand and also ensure that such a blunder is not committed again.
