Essay topics:

You read an article in a newspaper about a city/town. Some of the information in that article is wrong. Write a letter to the newspaper editions.
In your letter, you should:
• describe how you know the city/town
• tell what the problems are
• suggest what you want the editor to do.

Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to let to know that the information published in your newspaper day before yesterday about Ludhiana is not entirely correct. I am the native of this town. Not only my roots are connected with this town as my grand parents live here, but also this is my home town because I am born and bought up here. Our ancestral home is near to Sikh temple 'Gurudwara Singh Sabha'; about which the article was and I visit there almost daily.

Let me explain the errors thoroughly. Firstly, it was mentioned in your article that this is the fifth largest temple in town and it serves food which is known as 'Langar sewa" only on weekends which is not entirely correct. The corrections are, it is the second largest Sikh temple in this city and Langar is available full day and all year around. Moreover, you have written that this was constructed and maintained by municipal council, however, it is completely under the governance of 'Gurudwara Committee', Amritsar.

Would you please correct the information and add the footnote that the information given in last article was wrong? I also request you to please take good care while publishing historical and religious facts as the circulation of your newspaper is enormous.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yours faithfully,
Kirti likhi
