Dear Sir or Madam,
My name is Sally Pearson. I am writing this letter to report a discrepancy in my gas meter reading.
I received the gas bill this morning in the mail. Upon checking the bill, I noticed that the meter reading indicated on the bill for 15 July 2017 was incorrect. I knew this was not right because I when I checked my gas meter located in my front yard, the meter reading was much lower than the figures reflected in the bill you sent me. My meter reflected 1057 mJ whereas your bill showed 1820 mJ.
I also estimated the charges I would have to pay, had the meter reading been correct and this worked out to be almost 300 dollars less than the figure you had indicated.
I do not want to have to pay for an amount of gas that I clearly did not use. Please could you explain how this could be rectified and whether the utilities board could arrange for another meter reading to be carried out to correct this figure.
I thank you and look forward to hearing from you soon
Sincerely,
Sally Pearson
