You recently saw a job advertisement for a tour guide, to show your local area and its attractions to English-speaking tourists. Write a letter to a tourist agency and say
– Where did you see this advertisement?
– Explain why you are suitable for this job.
– Suggest how to improve your local area to attract more tourists.
Dear Sir,
I am writing in reference to inform you of a recent advertisement that your tour agency posted in the local newspaper for the position of tour guide. I would like to state that I am keen on this position.
To elucidate I am a graduate and have attained English writing and speaking skills apart from this I have worked as a freelance tour guide at various art museums and forts in Alwar which are a centre of attraction globally. Additionally, I have also a keen interest in learning about historical items which helps in explaining the same facts in greater depth to the tourists especially the ones who come from overseas.
Apart from this, I believe that forts and museums are a part of our rich history and culture and nowadays they are in bad shape as the local government does not pay attention due to the lack of finances. To elucidate, I would suggest starting a paid tickets for visiting the attraction sites so that some revenue can be generated to start the repair work of these sites. apart from this, the local businesses around these sites can also give a certain amount which can use to improve the landscape around these sites and help to attract more tourists.
I look forward to your response and hope my suggestions are taken into consideration.
Yours sincerely
Tim
