Dear Ms Robinson,
My son, Mark Thomson, has signed up for trip to Georgia last week and parent’s associations has requested me to join the group for this excursion with the students. I am writing this letter to a inform the school authorities and wanted to clarify few doubts about this trip.
I have volunteered to join the children for this tour, as I am a native of Batumi, a place on the itinerary where the kids are planning to visit. I am well-verse with the local culture and the tradition of the place and can assist the students and teacher to visit the local places in and around the city. Since the tour guides only speak in Kartuli, a local language in Georgia, I can liaise with them for arranging trips and sightseeing of old maritime district and Botanical gardens.
I wanted to seek clarification from you regarding a time off for children to go for shopping souvenirs in Georgia. In Tbilisi, every Thursday, there is a flea market organised on old Mascot street. The vendors sell their collections from Soviet Era and World War II times and local artisans play live music. This will help the students to understand the culture and also, learn about some history.
I look forward to meeting you at the briefing session for the trip.
Your sincerely,
Rehana thomson
