Your local newspaper is offering an award for people who have helped the community. Write a letter to the newspaper editor. In your letter
suggest someone you think should receive the award
describe what the person does to help the community
suggest an award that would be appropriate for this person
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to suggest a person who really deserves the award given by the Thanh Nien newspaper for helping local communities.
I would like to nominate my next-door neighbor, steve Trevor, to take this award. he has lived in the Bau Cat neighborhood for 27 years and he is also my best friend. I would say that this guy is very friendly and contributive to our local community.
About his contribution, steve picks up garbage every early morning while doing exercises with me and that is why everyone in the neighborhood always finds the streets very clean. Furthermore, he even tries to separate recylable items from garbage and put them in the right place. Therefore, I totally believe that he is the hero of our local environment.
As for the award, since this guy lives a simple life and has never asked for anything much, I suppose a brief article in the newspaper to honor his name will be the best reward for him. If possible, a small amount of money will also be a good reward for his actions.
I hope you would take my suggestion into consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Truong
