Nowadays, where everything is getting revolutionized and Governments are spending their abundant amount of money in building various skyscrapers, ancient buildings has lost their charm among people.
Firstly, I believe that ancient buildings represents cultural heritage of any nation and they should not be abolished by officials. For example: There are many countries which are known by the name of their historical buildings, like Agra, India is known as the city of Taj Mahal. Similarly, Karachi, Pakistan, sometimes referred as a city where Quaid-e-Azam’s tomb is being built.
Secondly, because of the old buildings, authorities may earn revenue by promoting tourism in their country. For example: Many travelers loves to visit different countries because of their heritable constructions like India Gate, ShahJehan’s tomb and it would be unfair if we do not add the name of the great valley of Mohen-Jo-Daro in our list. So, the government should renovate the old buildings so that more and more people will come to visit the country from across the world.
Contrary to the above points, some people argue that officials should allocate their money in constructing big shopping malls, cinemas and in building artificial nature-based buildings which includes constructing restaurants under the sea. However, I do not agree with them because in these days, every country is striving to become the best and all countries are building the tremendous amount of glamorized infrastructures, so the uniqueness factor is missing in each of them and all of them are more or less similar but in contrast, if we see ancient buildings, they all have a differential factor among them and every building has some narrative behind it which separates it from everything.
In conclusion, I would say that government should spend their money in revamping the ancient buildings because it represents the country’s culture and traditions.
