recent figures show an increase in violent crime among youngsters under the age of 18. Some psychologists claim that the basic reason for this is that children these days are not getting the social and emotional learning they need from parents and teachers.
To what extend do you agree or disagree with this option?
In the contempory world, the violent crime rate is increasing in children below 18 years of age. Also, experts says that lack of emotional and social support are the main factors which are responsible for such behavior. However, I completely agree with this notion and believe that parents’ and teachers ‘ guidance is compulsory for building moral values in children.
There are plethora of reasons which indicate the sorts of things that depart the children from gaining good values. Firstly, today adolescents are overburdened by their studies. They don’t have much time to socialize with the peers and learn attributes like sharing, co-operativeness and trust. Because of this, child is becoming introvert. For example- when a child meet with person of his age , he finds difficulty even to communicate . Secondly, children give more importance to play video games rather than going outiside to play outdoor games. Additionally, the content of video games are mostly based on fighting , wrestling and harming others, that influence the child behavior in wrong direction.
Furthermore, lack of parental supervision is one of the factors that initiate violent nature of the child. Today, most of the parents are working, so they don’t get enough time to spend with their offsprings , due to this reason, children involve in bad companies such as consuming drugs, consequently indulge in violent crimes to fulfil their needs that they cannot demand from parents. Despite this, the family disputes also generate the violence in the youngsters.
To conclude, number of factors which deprive the child from learning moral values and ethics which can be only altered from collaborative actions of parents, society as well as mentors to fasciliate good behavior of child and making him an ethical citizen of the country.
