No business in this world runs successfully without the appropriate help from employees, since their prompt interventions at various stages of production as well as services are very important for a smooth run. Therefore, some business owners keep it as a requirement that their workers be in a constant touch with working places and contactable at any moment. Some people emphasize, that extra working on weekends or after standard working hours let employees to earn additional money, while others underscore that workers could be worn out due to overwork.
In further illustration, some professions in this world demand compulsory attention at crucial time by the employees. For instance, garment workers might have to needed to work on public holidays, in addition to night shifts to finish an urgent export order. On the one hand, if the work not done on time can lead to loss the business and the other hand employees may get additional bonus apart from overtime pay for timely placement of order. Furthermore, prompt intervention by a doctor or employee in fire brigade regardless of holiday could play an important role to save lives.
However, opponents of this view, argue that blurring of boundary between occupation and personal life can affect not only the family and personal life, but also the own personal health. Persons, who are working on holidays hardly find any time to spend with family members or neighbors, because this is the time mostly others are free. Moreover, skipping of vacations can seriously affect the body health and many studies have shown that it has direct relationship between work related stress and diseases such as gastritis, diabetes and heart problems.
In conclusion, although employees are getting financial benefits due to working on holidays, it can also have many drawbacks. In fact, efficiency of the person can substantially affect due to work related tension. Therefore, in my opinion, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages when employees are called for work on holidays,
