News stories on TV and in newspapers are very often accompanied by pictures. Some people say that these pictures are more effective than words. What is your opinion about this?

Images tend to be more eye catchy than the words. News articles are often published in paper or media along with the relevant photographs. Few audience think pictures convey more information than words. In this essay I would like to discuss my opinion that info-graphics are informative but words have their own prominence.

Now-a-days all the media and news channels are more relaying upon the photographs. Every day they come up with innovative ideas to attract the audience. One such attempt is usage of the images in news converges. For instance, the adverts and news with images are attractive to the teenagers due to their narrative mode. So, many TV shows and newspapers are using images to cover the news stories.

Because, it takes less time to go through the postures, most of the people feel that they are more effective. While present generation are very busy in their lives, they don’t have much time to know what is happening around them. However, with in the limited time available everyone is interested to read through the newspapers and media, which has become quite easy with the help of related images. For instance, a picture showing the budget in detail is very easy to analyse in fewer seconds compared to big paragraphs. As, the images are time saving, many people feel that they are effective than words.

Although many people feel that words are less important than images, written articles have their own significance in my opinion. Images can not disclose the entire information as it is a small resource. For example, a photo about statistics may not be so detail to understand all the required information. But, content can efficiently deliver the message irrespective of the images. Hence, words convey the content completely while images can do the same in certain instances only.

Therefore, I believe that info-graphics and words have their own significant marks on delivering the news. Though some argue that graphs are more efficient, words are equally important.
