Some people like to keep a record of their own experiences by uploading pictures andother information to social-networking sites. Other people prefer not to create suchrecords.
Which approach do you prefer, and why?
Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
To begin with, by documenting our lives on social media, we create memories to be savored in the future. It is not uncommonthat no matter how much we enjoyed a certain experience, such as sauntering with a poetic heart along a quiet river on amidsummer night, skydiving from 15,000 feet above on a clear day, watching our kid take his first steps, to name just a few, thehustle and bustle of modern life will invariably make us forget everything except our current needs or those of our family.Nevertheless, each text or video we post and each photo or song we share on social media will bring us back to the past andhelp us relive that lost moment in time. They will remind us of our tender feelings and inner thoughts, our regrets and glory, ourhope and courage. Thus, disappointed in life as we sometimes may be, we will obtain much encouragement from those preciousmemories stored in social-networking sites, and realize once again that no matter what life brings, it is after all worth living.
What is more, sharing our experiences online is conducive to our interpersonal relationship. For one thing, we all have friendswho were once dear to us yet vanished from our life once they moved away either because of work or marriage, which issomething of a regret. Yet by sharing our life on social media where we can tag any friend by mentioning them in a post orcomment, we can get those long-lost friends engaged and manage to stay in contact with them even though we no longer seethem on a regular basis. Besides, displaying our life online can also help us start new friendships. In this day and age, apart frominteracting with existing friends on social media, we are also constantly on the lookout for kindred spirits, those that interest usand those whom we can relate to. For instance, a food lover will easily be attracted by one who always shares quality videos onhow to cook homemade food online. Once such interest is kindled, a new friendship is not far away as wecan communicatereadily with our “idol” with the convenience provided by social networking sites.
