According to the reading, online encyclopedias have three major disadvantages, however, the lecturer finds all the ideas dubious and presents some evidences to refute them all.
First of all, the reading passage asserts that information entered in online format are written by non academic and non expert individuals so they can not be truthful. On the contrary, the professor holds the idea that not only in online form everybody can find some errors, but also does it on traditional written format. Although there is a chance about online format and that is the possibility to correct the mistakes whenever you want, but on traditional ones they were remained for decades.
Furthermore, the reading opines that even if the primary entry of data is correct, there may be the problem of changing or deleting them by hackers. On the other hand, the lecturer brings up this idea that there are some protective strategies to secure the information. Moreover, special editors check them in order to eliminate any intentional mistakes.
Finally, the passage declares that some popular and impressive topics bold on communal encyclopedias, whereas on traditional format there was a concentration on some deeper subjects. On the contrary, the lecturer dismisses this claim and states that this space is related to the issue of accurately refection the interests of followers.
To sum up, it can be clearly seen that the passage and the lecturer can not see each other on the same ground at this issue.
