Altruism
Both reading passage and lecture dicusses altruism and provide the two points of support.However, latter contradicts these two points.
Altruism means a selfless act like sharing your food or donating a kidney.But the lecture contradicts it with saying that kidney donation increases unnesscarry self worth and non-material apprecition of the person recieveing the kidney rather than the donar.
In the case of meerkats, the passage says a sentinel or a individual meerkat keeps a watch while others hunt or eat a prey leaving that sentinel open to danger.But the lecture later teels that it is the safest one as it can easily go back in the burrow while others are left open.Even the alarm can attract the predator to the sentinel or the alarm might gather all the meerkats together making it easier for the predator.
