Ethanol Fuel
Both the author and the lecturer discuss whether ethanol is a great alternative to gasoline or not. The passage claims that ethanol is not a good replacement for gasoline. The professor, on the other hand, completely rejects whatever mentioned in the reading by citing three reasons.

The lecturer, nevertheless, rejects the author's view and illustrates the idea that ethanol is producing from plants, and while the process of burning ethanol releases carbon dioxide, the process of growing plants will remove this harmful gas. As the plants utilize carbon dioxide, while they are growing, they could nullify the impact of carbon dioxide releasing from the burned ethanol.
Second of all, both the reading and the lecturer discuss the subject of utilizing plants by the production of ethanol. The author argues that the production of ethanol would incredibly reduce the number of plants accessible for uses other fuel. The professor validates the idea emphasizing that companies utilize plants that were not eaten by animals.
Eventually, the passage and the lecture address the subject of the cost of burning ethanol. The passage goes on to mentions that this fuel could not compete with gasoline on price. In contrast, the professor points out that in the future, individuals stop buying ethanol, and as the production of this material increase, the cost of it will drop.
All in all, the author mentions that ethanol is not a significant alternative to gasoline. While the professor not only completely cast doubt on it but also demonstrates that using this fuel will have a great number of advantages for both humans and the environment.
