Essay topics:

Extinction

The reading and lecture are both about whether yellow cedar trees are extinction because of attacking insects or changing in climate or lying bears or not. The passage on the other hand presents three explanations to posit why these are not a adequate evidence. The professor, however, refutes all of those explanations.

To begin with, the author of the reading claims that some insects which is naming a beetle, they feed on wood and bring up danger for trees, thereby, trees eventually become extinct. Nevertheless, the professor opposes this claim by mentioning that these kinds of unique trees are much more healthy and vigorous to be affected by insects. Moreover, trees are resistance thanks to exist of poison on the surface of leaves and flowers, thus beetle already become sick and die, so this is not a fundamental reasons to be represent.

Secondly, the article posits that brown bears lie down under the trees and utilize the sweet substance of trees which making this liquid to survive, thus bears feed on aggressively and destroy trees. However, the professor maintain on opposite opinion that the huge extinction occur in allover the north America not merely happen in the bears habitant so declining not relate to bear. Therefore, extinctions happen with or without presence of bears.

Third, the reading mentions that gradually revising of climate are consequence of declining in trees. The professor, on the other hand cast doubt on this claim by stating that falling and rising in the temperature are not firm results to extinction of cedar trees. North of America experiences a plethora of times which elevating in temperature, for instance sometimes freeze or be warm, however, this is not a firm reason what killing trees because other trees which are more sensitive than cedar, they are now exist.
