First, the author states, using ethanol does not solve problem of global warming, Because, ethanol also release carbon dioxide to atmosphere like gasoline. The lecturer refutes this notion. He suggests, ethanol derived from plants like corn, so increase growing of these plants will reduce carbon dioxide in air, since these plants used this gas in photosynthesis process to make their food. As a result using ethanol as fuel lead to increase planting of corn . Therefore carbon dioxide will decrease,
Second, the author says, using ethanol as fuel will decrease corn. This plant used as food for many animals. This point is challenged by professor. He elaborate on celleliod part which is present in plant cell wall. He says ethanol is made from this celeiloid part which is not used by animal as nutrition.
