First of all, in the reading, it is said that asteroids have so lower gravity that it is continent for people to land on them. On the contrary, the listening holds an opposite idea that the low gravity has some risks. That’s because low gravity is harmful for people’s health. People will lose muscle and bone density constantly. It is hard to imagine the health problems that stay long time on asteroids.
In addition, the passage asserts that some asteroids are rich in elements and precious metals and they can be mine. However, the professor refutes this theory by stating the fact that mining on the asteroids may not be very profitable. The costs of supporting a colony and of transporting the metals are very high. And there is no grantee that the price sell of mental can remain same price. If the supply of the mental increase, they will have lower profit.
Finally, the author of the reading believes that asteroids are easy to reach. However, the lecturer disagrees it with the point that it is difficult to return back. That’s because asteroids are more and more far away from earth. Therefore, asteroids cannot stay close to earth and they can even travel farther away from earth than Mars.
