reading literature
The reading and the lecture are both about the preference of people in reading. Whereas the reading suggest that people read less than they used to, however, the lecturer do not agree and casts doubts on the main points made in the reading by providing three reasons.
Firs of all, the author of the reading states that reading less literature such as novel cause of the decline in level of intellectuals. However, lecturer refutes this point. She suggests that reading less literature does not mean that people stop reading, there are other good written book or even more intellectual , especially in science such as history.
Secondly, the reading states that nowadays people read best seller, which written bad, and it waste of time. Nevertheless the lecture refutes this point. He argues that culture has changed, people interests as well. People watch movies and music video, but they also have many of expression that can improve the knowledge of people.
Finally, the reading states that because of many people are uninterested in reading literature, talented writer publish less, writers are becoming less popular. however, the lecturer believes that the cause of less support for people is authors fault. The publish very difficult book to understand.
In conclusion, although the reading and the lecture are both about today people' preference, the two main points in the reading are effectively challenged by the lecture.
