The reading passage and the lecture are both about replacement for vihcels' main source of power from internal -combution engine which are used gasoline or diesel to hydroger -based fuel -cell engine. The writer states three advantages from this replacement. However, the lecturer casts doubt on each advantage whichn is given by author.
First of all, the author states, one days the fuel which depend on petroleum one day will finish, But hydrogen needed for fuel -cell engine dose not easily depleted. This statement is challenged by professor. She says, hydrogen which is used as fuel only in pure state. It is difficul process to get hydrogen in pureform, especialy we need very cold tempreture about -53 to obtain pure hydrogen.
Second, the author asserts, hydrogen fuel cells are healthier for environment than interrnal - acombustion engine. The professor in the other hand refutes this notion. She states, complex process to obtain pure hydrogen need using petroleum or coal. These compnent as pollution to environment bas other fuel.
Finally, the writer contends, fuel -cells engine has economic value because, this car reguires only half the fuel energy than internal -combustion cars does to go same distance. The professor contradcts this argument. She says, the process to convert hydrogen to pure state need a lot of expensive equipments and materials. When we do it with cheap materials, this will effectb their performance.
