Summarise the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they case doubt on specific points made in the reading passage.

The reading and the lecture offer two opposing views on the proposed methods for stopping the spread of the cane toads. Whereas the author of the reading suggests that many proposed measures would be useful for this aim, the lecturer refutes this proposal ideas. She casts doubt on main points made in the passage by providing three reasons.
First of all, according to the text, applying a national fence could prevent the cane toads to reach specific parts of Australia. However, the lecturer argues that national fence won't be practical and beneficial, because the young toads and their eggs have found in the streams and rivers which can easily transfer from side to side and the rivers carry them regardless of the fence.
Secondly, the author of the reading discusses the collecting and destroying cane toads by many volunteers or campaigns. While, the lecturer believes that it could seem useful but untrained volunteers may cause many damages to frogs' population which are important for Australian ecosystem.
Finally, although the text states that a kind of virus could be used to avoid increasing the toads' population, the lecturer explains that this proposal approach will cause harmful aftermath. She mentions that in the case of transferring the virus to the other part of the world, it would be dangerous for another important species. Due to transporting many animals affected by this virus, to south of America, there is the devastation of many significant ecosystem species.
