TOEFL TPO 17 - Integrated Writing Task
The article states that continually increasing human population and agriculture and pesticide result in necessarily decline the number of birds in the United States and issues three reason of support. In contrast, the professor makes clear that decline in birds number have a another reason and is not depend on the steady growth of the human population and renounce each of author's reasons.
First, the reading claims that destroy the habitat of birds is due to construction new homes, infrastructural likes road, bridge, so on. Conversely, the professor refutes this point by imparting that increase in extend and construction of city cause increase in birds population such as Pigeon and Crow population. He asserts that decline in some of population may be result in increase in many another birds population.
In addition , the passage posits that the decline in bird populations in rural areas is due to converted wilderness area to agricultural use ground. However, the speaker says that more crops along with more agriculture extend, there is a more feed to birds. According to professor author's reason is unconvinced.
Finally, the text contends that more critically factor in decline of birds is the use of chemical pesticides. On the contrary, the lecturer opposes this point by expressing that with advanced technology and use of genetics in agriculture, scientist produce and introduce pesticide-resistant crops and it is not harmful for birds.
We also learn that study and use of agriculture new technology and science make clear way to farmers to conserve environment.
