In general, both the reading passage and the lecture discuss how a group of people can plan and work on projects. The author’s passage affirms that a group of people has a wider range of knowledge, expertise, and skills to possess than any single individual to work. However, in the lecture, a company decided have teams to work and plan new projects, in contrast to some team’s characteristics in the passage.
First of all, creative solutions come about because a group is more likely to make decisions than an individual might not undertake as the author’s reading says. Even though, the lecture affirmed that one or two people can have solutions and influence a team about a decision. Meanwhile, in the passage, a member group can have a decision better than a group. On the other hand, ideas and decisions can come easily into the group and quickly drop out because of those influencers. As a result, all the group is blamed for the situation on the lecture.
Secondly, the author’s claims that a team member has a much better chance to “shine”, to get his or her ideas and contributions highly significant. However, the lecturer affirms that a team can have ideas and greater impact, solve problems faster that only one person and with productivity.
