The passage and the lecture discuss the impact of nature disasters such as fire and storme on nature and how the salvage logging can be the adequate solution on both environmental and economical field.
First of all, the author states that the salvage logging cleans the soil, make a good place for the new roots to grow ups thus, helps the trees to recover in other hand the lecturer rebuts this facts by saying that salvage logging is in contrast making the soil more vulnerable by taking off his fertilizer elements.
