TPO-19 - Integrated Writing Task Many consumers ignore commercial advertisements. In response, advertising companies have started using a new tactic, called “buzzing." The advertisers hire people, buzzers, who personally promote (buzz) products to people

The reading states that Buzzers, hired by advertisement companies, who promote the products to people should be banned, and provides three reasons for support. However, the lecturer casts doubts on the claims made in the reading by presenting counter-arguments. He believes that they shouldn't be banned, as they are worth hiring.

First of all, the author points out that buzzers are being paid for advertising the product, so they might give an incorrect information. This point is challenged by the lecturer. He says in spite of the fact that they are being paid for advertising the products, the company hired them because the buzzer believes that it's a great product.

Secondly, the author contends that since they are private individuals unlike companies, so the customers listen to their endorsements less critically and ask fewer questions about the products. The lecturer rebuts this argument. He suggests that people ask a lot more questions to buzzers. In addition, if not answered rightly, the customer won't buy the product.

Finally, the author states that buzzing is likely to have harmful effects on the social relationship. The article establishes that once the customer will get to know that buzzers are being paid, they will trust less. The professor, on the other hand, posits that if the products are likely to be good, which is good, the customers will have a good experience. Therefore, they will have more trust and will be open to people.
