The reading states that the elephant-sized edmontosaur, one of the most common North Slope dinosaues, migrate to south regions and provides three reasons of support. The professor, however, explains that the elephant-sized edmontosaur did not migrate and refutes each of the author's reasons.
First, the reading claims that the edmontosaurs's diet supports their migration. The professor contends this point by saying that the tempereture was warmer than now. She says that warm tempreture resulted in growing planets. She mentions that when these planets die it had been easy for dinosaur to get them and use them during the winter.
Second, the reading states that many edmontosaur skeletons have been unearthed from the same site which suggests that they lived in herd. The professor explains that livin in herd does not mean they migrate. She provides an example of Roselvelt Elk which they live in herd but they do not migrate. She says that although living in herd is very useful, it does not mean they migrate. So her example completely refutes this point.
Third, the reading states that edonosaurs were physically capable of migrationg long distances. The professor refutes this point by saying that they could not give up their juveniles alone. She says that because their offsprings could not travel great distance. The herd could not get their juvenile behind. So, this example clearly refutes the hypothesis of dinosaur migrating.
