The reading explains that the cloud seeding process prevents the damage of the hail on farmlands in the United States and three reasons are provided to support. However, from the lecturer's view, the mentioned reasons are not strong enough to be persuasive and she repudiates them all.

The reading states that the experimental results in the laboratory prove this claim. In contrast, the lecturer posits that the mentioned results can only be authentic in the experimental environments. In the real-life circumstances, these ingredients prevent the precipitation that is an undesirable phenomenon. It may cause drought in the near future. Therefore, it will damage the regions for sake of the lack of water.

The author claims that the same experience exists in the Asian countries. Hence, it can be considered as a reliable method. The professor opposes this point by saying that the mentioned effects have been in the urban areas. Such areas have a high amount of air pollution because of traffic and industrial environments in the cities. With the presence of chemical substances, these conditions are favorable for cloud seeding. Since it may not occur in the unpolluted regions like farmlands, this assertion is not compelling.

Based on the article, local studies have presented invaluable information about the cloud seeding. On the contrary, the lecturer argues that the mentioned decline of damage by hail has nothing to do with the cloud seeding. In fact, decreasing the hail causes that storms reduce as well in different directions and this is a natural variation that can not be used as a reason for this purpose.
