TPO 39 - integrated writing

In the lecture, the professor points out that the possible explanations which made by the author in the reading passage are not plausible to explain the elimination of other species which led to dinosaurs became dominate species at the end of the Triassic period. he points out several imperfections of each explanation made in the reading passage, and he refuses them one by one respectively.
First of all, the author believes that one possible option might be declination of the sea levels which were fluctuating in that time which caused the extinction of countless aquatic species. Nevertheless, professor refutes this statement, he says that species in shallow water were capable to adapt to the environment gradually.
Secondly, the lecturer rejects the claim which made by the author that plenty of volcanoes erupted which released an inordinate amount of SO2 into the atmosphere which made the temperature went down drastically, thus led to the extinction of several species. the professor believes that SO2 which released from volcano activity exist in short time it is mean the SO2 combine with water and oxygen and went down as precipitation, thus it might not be a great explanation of extinction.
Finally, the author believes that asteroid strike might be another explanation of extinction which debris from the strike that led to blocking the sunlight. On the other hand, the professor mentions that scientists haven't found creators which can date at that time.
