the reading passage suggests several solutions to prevent injuries to birds when they try to fly through glass windows ,for instance , oneway glass, colorful designs and magnetic field.however, the lecturer refutes all solutions made in the article.
first, the author of the passage states that replacing the regular glass with one way glass will make the birds to understand that the glass forms a solid barrier and will not try to fly through it. on the other hand, the lecture opposes this point and explains that the one way glass will act as a mirror ,and this is a problem for the birds ,becuase birds do not understand mirrors for example the one way glass will reflect the image of sky or tree,as a result the birds will try to fly through it.
second, the aricle proposes using of colorful designs ,for example ,windos could have a design of thin stripes painted over the glass.in contrast, the professor rebuts this solution and says that painted the windows with thin stripes will not be efficient becuase the birds will see the area between the stripes as holes and then they will try to fly through it.
third, the reading states that using a kind of magnetic feild around the building will help the birds .in contrary, the listning dis agrees with this point and explains that birds used magnetic compass during long trips not during short trips for example when they fly from one part of the city to the other part of the same city ,then they will not use the magnetic compass that they have ,instead of that they will use their eyes and the light.
