TPO 45-integrated
The passage and lecture are both about the presence of bees dated 200 million years ago. The passage disagrees with this term by illustrating some of their arguments while the lecturer agrees with the existence of bees by giving the reasons opposing the reading's points.
First of all, The passage posits the point that the preserved fossil of the actual bee was only 100 million years. and there was no discovery of the bee fossil which aged 200 million years. while the lecturer opposes by saying that at that time the tree rarely produced a resin which can preserve the bees bodies.so, it doesn't mean that there were no bees in 200 million years ago.
Secondly, The passage gives another point that flowering plants which are the bees' feed were extinct 125 million years ago before the appearance of bees. it was impossible for the presence of the bee at that time. But the lecturer disagrees with this point by stating that bees in the past not only relied on the flowers but they had a relationship with non-flowering plants like pine and fern before the evolution of flowering plants. After this change, these bees also adapted their relationship to the flowers like today's bees.
Finally, the passage argues that the evidence which is the discovered fossil of bee's chamber lacks some details like its caps of the nest. So it is believed to have been made by other insects. but the lecturer refutes this point by analyzing the nest chamber by special water substance. and its outcome shows that 200 million-year-bees use the same kind of as a modern bee.
