TPO-48 - Integrated Writing Task

The passage and the lecture discuss why the population of many frog species around the world have declined or even was going to extinction. The author of the passage presents three theories to ascertain changes occurred in some area that cause this population's reduction. The lecturer believes none of the reasons could correctly explain the problem and give some solution that is practical and solve the problem of declining frog populations.
The author argues that frogs are being affected by pesticides that farmers are using them to keep their crops away from insects. The lecturer argues against this reason and believes that the solution must be economical fair and practical. besides that is not possible for farmers neither don't use pesticides nor change their farms' location. As a result, laws couldn't prohibit farmers from using pesticides for frogs population problem.
Furthermore, the reading passage holds the view that fungus causes frogs to die of dehydration. Therefore, the reading is suggesting usage of antifungal medication as a solution. Nevertheless, the lecturer illustrates that if they want to protect frogs with medicine, they should do it individually for each frog, and do it again and again, for each generation. Consequently, this approach is expensive and that is not practical.
Finally, the reading asserts that frogs’ natural habitats are in danger by human activities. The lecturer opposes this point by explaining that you couldn't prevent people from using water for development. besides, the real water problem is global warming that human couldn't stop it yet.
