The reading passage and listening are both about the pros and cons of excavation of vessels which contain small current power. The reading strongly postulates that it isn't prone to be used as electrical batteries in old times. On the other hand, The listening adamantly delineates that the author's points are not persuasive because of several compelling reasons.
First and foremost, According to the author of the excerpt that there are no proofs that any metals which are an essential part of electronic batteries were located nearby the vessel also all they found is just the vessel. Nonetheless, The professor offsets these points by declaring that the local people found this evidence, not an archaeologist so it is highly possible that they didn't recognise any critical details and maybe they overlooked or threw away.
On top of this, The professor in the lecture elaborates by bringing up the points that this data may demonstrate it is a combination of liquid and iron which are helped to create electricity even it identified same as a copper cylinder which discovered in aged ruins of Seleucia. Moreover, the early people invented this copper cylinder for the one purpose in the first time then they adopted it to produce another thing. these claims refute the author's indications about it is similar to another copper cylinder which is found in the neighbourhood is used as holding scrolls of divine texts not for producing electricity.
The text lastly insists that there is no sign to prove the early people used electricity because they hadn't any devices that depended on electrical power. The speaker in lecture counter these indications by asserting that they could use this power to heal other people like modern medical treatments such as relieve pain and muscles of therapy. Furthermore, it had just a little bit of power which felt with the help of touching the electricity in inconspicuous ways.
