Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how the proposal discussed in the lecture would solve the specific challenges described in the reading passage.
Both the reading and the lecture discuss whether it is possible for human beings present on Venus in the future. The reading passage implies the statement is highly impossible to practice due to several theories, while the lecturer thinks it is possible for people to live in Venus if a flowing balloon-like station can be installed in the atmosphere of the planet.
First of all, the reading passage suggests that the atmospheric pressure which is at least 90 times greater than the one at Earth's surface is too heavy to make humans survive. However, the lecturer seriously disagrees with the argument by mentioning the height of the balloon-like station. To be more specific, if the craft is established at the height of 50 kilometer, which has an equal atmospheric pressure with Earth, the first question raise by the author could be resolved.
Secondly, the reading implies that the absence of water and oxygen is going to make the absence of humans on Venus. Yet, the scholar strongly challenges such claim by relating the compounds found in the Venus' atmosphere. To elaborate, people could process chemical compounds, such as carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and sulfuric acid, into water and oxygen. Thus, it is not necessary to worry about the the absence of humans' surviving requisites, or the unworkable supplies plan.
Last but not least, the reading suggests that few quantities of sunlight may decrease the likelihood of human beings' living chance. Nevertheless, the professor seriously refutes such statement by talking about the characteristic of the planet's atmosphere. In fact, the place below the cloud is not thick at all, thereby if the station installed in such place, then people could utilize the sunlight to generate electricity without concerning about the thick cloud would suffocate them.
To conclude, the scholar calls each explanation into question. That is to say, he believe it is possible for humans to live on Venus with respect to the practical balloon-like space station.
