traveling alone or with a friend
Many people think that students are influenced by their teachers more than by their friends. They say that students consider teachers as role models and take their words as wisdom. Although I understand their point of view, I have a different opinion. I believe that students are influenced more by their friends because they spend more time with them, and they are of the same age.
First, students spend most of their time in school or doing some activities, and the rest of time at home. In school, they are with their friends. In activities, most of time, friends share same activities. At home, after studying time, they either call each other on phone, or play some sports together especially if they live in the same neighborhood. Through all the day they are together exchanges talks and experiences. I can recall my childhood, where I was sitting beside one of my friends in the class, and behind the other two. In the school break or lunch time, we set together. We do school projects together. We do the same activities. We go to the same church. Our families are friends, as consequence, we hang out together when our families hang out. At the end, we almost spend every second together. They had undeniable influence on me, as we spend all the time together sharing everything even our thoughts and experiences.
Second, friends are usually of the same age. They experience the same things. For example, teenagers, they all experience attracting to the opposite sex, wanting to know more about their bodies biological changes, and trying to act more as independent people. This leads them to talk a lot about what happening to them, exchange stories about their adventures with this girl or that boy. They have much more exciting talks they share together than what they can share with a teacher or a parent. I can remember when I was in middle school; I used to set with my friends, hearing from that girl about the boy she was talking to, what he said to her, and what she said to him. Hearing the story of other friend who wanted to repaint her room, despite of her family disagreeing. Hearing many different stories and adventures that nourish my mind with various ideas about what happening around me. Friends of same age have a great influence on me for sure.
In conclusion, for the reasons mentioned above. I encourage every parent to make sure about the morals their kids' friends have, because kids are more influenced by their friends than by any other person.
