Were dinosaurs Reptiles or Endotherms?
The reading passage and lecture are both about whether or not dinosaurs are endotherms. The article strongly postulates that these animals varied a lot of features from the once they considered as reptiles. On the other hand, the listening adamantly delineates that it is groundless because of three compelling reasons.
First and foremost, according to the author of the excerpt, dinosaurs' relics founded in Polar regions where had harsh climate and it was hard to sustain in this area for the reptiles. Nonetheless, the lecture offsets these points by declaring that the weather was much warmer than today in these regions. Furthermore, she asserts that these dinosaurs could have migrated to other places or hibernated like those reptiles during the cold climate.
The professor in the lecture further asserts that the position of dinosaurs' legs can not fully explain that they were endotherms due to fact that it was the structure to support these animals' great weight instead of adapted to running. these claims refute the writer's implications about their legs position helped them to adjust the physical activities because dinosaurs' legs duties were totally different from those of other reptiles such as crocodiles and some lizards.
The article lastly points out that the bone structure of those animals' demonstrates they actually had Haversian canals which provide some animals to grow instantly both in their size and length. The speaker in the listening counters these indications by insisting that they had also growth rings which indicate that they didn't grow rapidly in some period especially in the wintertime. it goes without saying that after this cold weather they were continuing grow as they used to, so it means that these characteristics clearly represent dinosaurs were endotherms.
