The line graph illustrates the proportion of visits to UK and from the UK between 1979 and 1999. The bar graph demonstrates the most popular countries that have visited by UK residents in the year 1999.
It is evident from the graph,that both overseas and UK residents have rose throughout the period. At first glance the UK residents who visits abroad at just over 10 millions were far higher than overseas residents at approximately 10 millions in 1979. Over the following ten years, the amount of UK residents increased dramatically nearly to 35 millions, whereas overseas residents increased slightly. At the end of the period, the number of visits abroad by UK residents were far exceeded compared to overseas visitors, that were at just over 50 millions and 25 millions respectively.
Moving on to the bar graph, France was the most popular country among UK residents where 11 millions visited in 1999. The next most popular country was Spain at approximately 9 millions of UK visitors visited while USA, Greece and Turkey were the least in the year 1999. Overall, the total amount of UK visitors was nearly 9 millions throughout the year.
To sum up, by the end of 1999, the most popular country was France as well as the highest number of UK residents visited abroad.
