Some people believe that a college or university education should be available to all students.Others believe that higher education should be available only to good students.Discuss these views. Which view do you agree with? Explain why.

Receiving an education is a privilege that not everyone has because sometimes it is really expensive and not everybody can afford it. Some individuals believe that college or university education should be open to all students without differences whereas other think that only the best students should beneficiated of it.

From my point of view, everyone should be given the opportunity to study at college even if they may not be able to pay for it. The government should try to help the young people to attend university providing them scholarships or any kind of financial aid, for instance, accommodations, free meals or studying materials.

Surely that kind of help shouldn't be taken for granted. Although I believe that anyone has the right to study, the students have to succeed in their scholar careers. Since the government usually doesn't have so much money for education purposes, if they gave the financial help without following certain parameters, it would mean that people who don't deserve to attend university could steal the spot to those who really care about education but don't have the means to pay for it.

In conclusion, in my opinion everybody should have the chance to study at least in the beginning. On the other hand if for example at the end of the first year they don't pass a certain number of exams with a good score, so they don't prove to be worth, the possibility to study should be given to the good ones who are really ambitious and will appreciate this kind of help.
