TPO 40-1
The passage talks about the possibility of the human living on the Venus planet. The author in the reading claims three theories due to impassibility of this statement; however, in the lecture, the professor respectively contradicts his assertions by using three specific points as supports.
First, the reading mentions that the pressure in the surface of the Venus is very high than Earth's surface pressure. Therefore, this high pressure bring about damaging all equipment and spacecraft which will landed on the surface of the Venus; While, the professor indicates that there is a solution for this problem. He states that with establishing a station on the 50 kilometer above the surface of the Venus, not only the danger of crushing will be eliminate but also the pressure will be equal with Earth pressure.
In addition, the author in the reading says that there is lake of water and oxygen in the Venus. Since, these two factors are vital for the living; therefore, it will be obligatory to supply them from Earth. In contrast, the professor argues that there is not any water or oxygen shortage in the Venus, because according to the some chemical reactions it would be possible to made water and supply requirement oxygen. Hence, will be not need to transfer the oxygen or water on the Venus from Earth.
As a final point, with attention to the reading, existing of the clouds around the Venus is the main reason to sun light reach the surface of the Venus only 40 percent. As a result, people could not generate their necessary electric at there. In contrary, the professor rebuts the statement by pointing out that clouds surrounded the Venus are not very thick and cannot affect the sunlight. In the other hand, he notes the clouds are in the 50 kilometer distance from Venus. He explains, with putting station on the 50 kilometer above the Venus, sun light could reach the station directly, beside, this subject will be solve.
