Should wealthy nations be required to share their wealth with poor countries by providing such things as food and education? Or, it is the responsibility of the government of poorer countries to look after their citizens themselves?
It is often argued that rich countries should help the poorer countries by supporting such thing as food and education. While I agree with this idea, I believe that the government of underdeveloped countries should be responsible for the development themselves
On one hand, I agree that wealthy countries should share their wealth with indigent nations for some reasons. Firstly, it is obvious that it enable for the poor countries to accelerate the development process of nations. This means that rich nations can help the poorer countries by some ways, such as technology- transfer, providing a good education system for children, giving scholarship to students and just to name a few. As a result, poorer countries will have a great generation who will make contribution to the development of nations in the future. In addition, the wealthy countries can benefit from assistance the poorer countries. For example, the poor country like Viet Nam often gets non refundable aid to buidt a highway and street from Japan government. With that help, Japan companies are always welcome to invest in industrial construction and received the low tax policy from Vietnam government.
On the other hand, I believe that the indigent nations should be accountable for their development themselves. It allows poorer nations do not rely much on wealthy nations to develop local economies. They can raise the public’s awareness on getting out of poverty. For example, Vietnam government sponsor citizen to take step to starting a small business or provide a right policy to encourage people who wants to open a farm. Thus, these policies can improve people living standard in the future.
Conclusion I agree that rich countries should assist the poorer nations, but the indigent countries should make an effort to get rid of poverty by themselves first.
