The graph shows the spending on research into renewable energy of four countries from 1975 to 2000.
The giver line chart compares and contrasts the amount of investment on renewable energy researching changes, measured in dollars per person, among four European countries in a 25 year period, from 1975 to 2000.
Generally speaking, the overall spending had been growing throughout the span, and Switzerland and Denmark paid more attention on green energy programmes than Spain and the UK.
The most noticeable growth can be seen in Switzerland, which the spending was far greater than any other four countries. With an initial start in 1975, the expenditure surged to about $2.5/person in 1980, after which it rapidly climbed to almost $5/person in 1995 then gradually reached to the top in 2000 at 5.1 dollars per person.
Denmark experienced a sharp growth in the first five years in this period as well. However, this figure remained a slight growth before it touched the highest point in 2000, which was exact 3$/person.
The investment increase in Spain and the UK was relatively slow. After Spain hit the peak at 1$/person in 1980 and the UK reached the vertex at nearly $1/person in 1985, both countries saw different levels of declining by 2000.
